Vacaciones - Holiday

Un dia de vacaciones en la ciudad. Paseo mañanero de una hora por el parque para despejarme y descubrir este santuario para pajaros, con estatua y piscina incluida. Por la tarde a la Royal Academy para ver la exhibicion de fotografia Eyewitness: Hungarian Photography in the 20th Century . 200 imagenes cubriendo multitud de generos : fotoperiodismo (Capa), documentales (Kertesz, Brassai, Escher, Balogh, Fejes) , fotografia creativa (Moholy-Nagy, Vadas) y de moda (Munkacsi). Interesante a muchos niveles, ademas de descubrirme a artistas pioneros en su campo, ya que exceptuando Capa no conocia a ningun otro, aunque si sus obras, repetire visita. De camino al coche nos dimos con Vogue Fashion's Night Out en Bond Street y aprovechamos para visitar alguno de los establecimientos participantes . Las colas para entrar impidieron que echara un vistazo a Chanel y McQueen. Fotos aqui y aqui.

Staycation Thursday : morning walk and run at Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park in the morning and discovering some photograpic artist at the latest exhibition at the Royal Academy; Eyewitness: Hungarian Photography in the 20th Century. With over 200 items covering multitude of genres and artists, so enjoyable, that we will go back.

On the way to the car we saw crowds going to Bond Street for Vogue Fashion's Night Out and joined them visiting some stores.

Visita inesperada el mes pasado a la exhibicion Remarkable Indonesia en Harrods. Yo me decante por la parte artistica y textil.

A destacar los estampados batik, ikat y los bordados multicolores de las faldas sarong. Y para muestra un boton, en este caso unas fotos.

Last month I visited Harrods and by chance viewed their Remarkable Indonesia promotion. My favorite the textile section. I loved their batik, weaving and the embroidered sarong skirts. These are some of the exhibits.

Boquiabierta que me deja la creatividad de esta artista alemana que utiliza el medio textil en sus creaciones. Sus piezas son de lo mas tierno, divertido y jugueton. La familia de monos me recuerda esta otra en el V&A de Londres.
Sus deportivos en punto (con tecnica de calcetines) y fieltro para el Virtual Shoe Museum son ademas practicos.

A new discovery , Nina Braun a german artist that uses craft techniques with a contemporary edge to create these tactile, funny, ironic pieces, ranging from sculptures, installations , drawings to tapestries. I love her sneaker slippers knitted with sock techniques and with added felt for the decorations. A talented creator who funded the first female owned german skateboarding company.
