Sabanas a punto de cruz - Cross stiched bedlinen

El otro dia hablando con una amiga no se como le mencione las sabanas que borde a punto de cruz que borde. Y no podia creerlo, ni como lo hacia (con la ayuda de cañamazo) ni que existiera ese uso para tal labor.
Al mostrarle los tres juegos de cama que borde en varios veranos hace no se cuantos años, se me ocurrio pensar que no los he usado aun. Asi que anoche dormi con este juego de cama.

Talking to a british friend the other day I mentioned to her the three sets of sheets that I embroidered on cross stich many, many years ago. She could not believe how I embroidered them using waste canvas, or even that one might want to crossstich bedlinen. That made me realized that I had not used them. So last night I sleep on this set. The other two sets soon to follow the same fate.

Trenzando - Plaiting

Pulseras a cuatro hilos que estuve el otro dia con la ayuda de este tutorial de Cut Out + Keep. Me gusta el  color y aire naif que me hace pensar en los 1950s.

 

Bracelets on four strands that I tried a couple of weeks ago, using this tutorial, from Cut Out + Keep. I find they have a certain 1950s retro style specially the soft colours set.

Chinese paper cut Art - Recortes chinos

La/os habituales saben que me encantan los recortes de papel e incluso he hecho alguno que otro. Esta vez los compre, estos son  chinos y todo un arte, muy delicados e intrincados. Los encontre en un puesto de la Canalway Cavalcade 2013 el domingo pasado. Ahora a ver si me atrevo a hacer alguno, aunque sea con la ayuda de algun que otro tutorial. Aqui hay muchos donde escoger.

I like papercuts, in any style. I even did my own kirigami hearts a little while ago. This time I bought them , 3 books of beautifully intricate Chinese paper cuts. I found even more intricate ones here and a curious mixture of classic and modern ones on this page.  I came accross them last weekend on one of the stalls in Little Venice while viewing the Canalway Cavalcade 2013. I might try my hand with this butterfly tutorial I found online, or perhaps this traditional double happiness symbol. More tutorials here.

    

Canalway Cavalcade 2013

El fin de semana pasado nos acercamos a Little Venice a ver la Canalway Cavalcade 2013. Una procesion de barcazas en el canal. Me gustan lo coloridas que son, los nudos y las banderolas que usan para adornarlas. Hasta hay llego, no creo que aguantaria vivir en un espacio tan reducido.

Last weekend we went to Little Venice to see the Canalway Cavalcade. I like seem how brightly decorated they are, with all the painted pots, bunting and al the knots. I only enjoy seem them, I don't think I could live in one.

 

Macaroneando - Macaroning

Aprendiendo a hacer macarones parisinos que pase la mañana del sabado por Islington, en TheMake Lounge.  Siempre pense que serian dificiles de hacer, pero la profesora era tan buena que consiguio que incluso los mios salieran bonitos. Y es que meti la pata y mezcle el azucar y el huevo del merengue antes de montar las claras... Ahora toca practicar para no repetir errores.

  

 Saturday morning spent at The Make Lounge learning to make  french macaroons .  I though they will be difficult to make, but our teacher was so good that even after  I made the mistake of adding sugar to the egg whites before beating them, but I still got nice looking macaroons. Now to practice to avoid  mistakes.

Sabado al limon - Lemony Saturday

Entre limones que pase la tarde del sabado. Once para ser mas exactos que use para preparar limoncello, lemon curd y limonada a la lavanda.
