Preparando leche de soja- Making soya milk
Ingredientes para 1 litro
- 125 gr soja ecologica en grano / organic soya beans
- Agua / water
- Canela en rama / Cinnamon bark
- Esencia de vainilla / Vainilla esence
Cubrir la soja con agua y remojar durante 30m.
Eliminar la cascarilla con las manos. Tomar un puñado de soja entre las manos y restregarlos entre las palmas. No importa si quedan algunas, la mayoria se separan flotando en el agua, la aparto sin mas. Esto ayuda a reducir el remojo , ademas de mejorar el sabor.
Cambiar el agua y dejar remojar hasta completar 8 o 9 horas.
Tirar el agua del remojo, pasar la mitad de la soja por la batidora ,añadiendo agua y triturarando hasta conseguir una masa ligera. Repetir con el resto. Añadir agua hasta completar un litro.
Pasar por el colador / chino un par de veces, para eliminar los restos solidos llamados okara. Estos pueden comerse y cocinarse, pero suelen eliminarse.
La leche no es aun comestible , para eso tenemos que hervirla suavemente durante 15/ 20 minutos .
Guardar en la nevera, dura hasta 3 dias.
I often use soya milk, but I noticed the small amount of soya within the ingredients often just 6%. I searched for higher percentage brands but only managed to find some in small tetra pack units available only in oriental supermarkets at higher price. Chance got me to browse a vegetarian cookery book where I found a recipe. I checked it agains others online and today I prepared my first homemade soya milk.

Preparation
Put the grains to soak, after half hour, rub the grains between your hands to get rid of the membrane. You might not get all of them but enough to make it more digestible and reduce the soaking time. They will float in the water pull them out and change the water. Leave soaking for 8 or 9 hours.
Throw away the water, take small amounts of the grains put in blender add water and pulse until getting an smooth pulp. Add water until getting 1 litre. Eliminate the solid protein or okara by filtering the milk through a sieve or muslin bag twice. The milk is not drinkable yet, we have to simmer it for 15/20 m. while stirring. Add any flavorings at this stage, mine were cinammon bark and vainilla. Filter again and now is ready to drink. It will keep for three days in the fridge.

Limpiadora al aloe con rosas - Aloe vera and rose cleanser
- 50 ml olive oil / aceite de oliva
- 30 ml aloe vera gel / gel de aloe vera
- 30 ml rosewater / agua de rosas
- 6 drops rose essential oil / gotas de aceite esencial de rosas
Still making potions as I ran out of cleanser. This time I prepared aloe vera and rose cleanser. Blend all the ingredients, decant into a small bottle and store in the fridge. To use massage into face and neck and remove with a wet wash cloth.

Celebrando - Celebrating
Celebrando Semana Santa en casa con una cesta de huevos de chocolate caseros (mis primeros) a la lavanda y rosa. La receta del libro "Medicinal Cookery", segun el todo un tratamiento para el sistema nervioso gracias a los efectos antioxidantes del chocolate, los antidepresivos de la rosa y los relajantes de la lavanda. La receta es bastante simple. Ingredientes / Ingredients
- 100 gr 70% dark chocolate / chocolate negro
- 1 tsp lavander flowers / 15 ml flores lavanda
- 5 drops organic lavander essential oil / gotas aceite esencial lavanda
- 10 drops organic rose essential oil / gotas aceite esencial rosa
Derretir el chocolate en un bowl al baño Maria, añadir las flores de lavanda y los aceites. Mezclar bien y pasar a los moldes. Mi receta lleva la mitad del aceite de rosas ya que me parecia muy fuerte, supongo que esto variara dependiendo de marcas el mio era rose absolut de Neal's Yard.
Celebrating Easter with (my first) homemade Lavander and Rose Easter Eggs. The recipe is from Medicinal Cookery . A treat to the nervous system according to the book, I would happily self-medicate with this anytime.
To prepare, melt the chocolate on a bain marie, add the lavander flowers and the oils. Mix well and transfer to moulds. I halved the amount of rose oil as it look too much for the amount of chocolate. I suppose this would vary according to the quality of the oil, I used Neal's Yard organic rose absolut.
